Capts. Bobbi & Mark Brady

Bobbi joined Mark in the company and in life. Together they have grown and expanded to what it is today. Never having fished much before meeting Mark, the times have changed. Now running the company as well as winning tournaments and teaching their daughter to fish, it has become a passion and a lifestyle. After growing up running shrimp boats with her dad and brother there’s definitely salt in the veins.  Years in the customer service industry makes it easy to be in this field.  Great demeanor as well as a love for fishing makes for an awesome day on the water.

Captain Mike Duttenhaver is a second generation guide out of Steinhatchee. He lives in town with his wife, Chrissy. His parents have called Steinhatchee home for 35 years while his dad fished and chartered the area full time. Captain Mike not only grew up fishing as a kid next to his dad but feels blessed to have gained invaluable knowledge and wisdom during those years. He now has 15 years of his own experience as a local guide that he adds to that and a true passion for the sport.

Captain Mike values family and finds joy in being able to provide an opportunity for friends and families to make memories on the water. His top priority is always safety but fun and catching fish are a close second! He welcomes all, from experienced fishermen to beginners out for the first time, and enjoys teaching willing learners!

Inshore is where you’ll find him hunting for redfish and trout most of the year. In the summer he switches gears and enjoys taking families out for a fun day in the water snorkeling for scallops. Captain Mike considers his career a blessing and is thankful to make friends while sharing his knowledge of the sport with others and providing a fun day for all!

Capt. Max Leatherwood

I am Captain Max Leatherwood of “Maxxx’d Out Charters”. I’m from Newman Georgia but have made Steinhatchee my home for the last 5 years.

I’m like most fisherman in that my dad taught me to fish at a very young age and ever since I’ve been hooked!

I have always had a passion for fishing whether it was fishing competitively on bass tournament trails or fishing for fun on the flats of Steinhatchee which I have been fishing for the past 50 years.

I believe in making my charters fun and memorable trip for my clients and will work as hard as I can to assure they do – like my name implies Maxxx’d Out!

Capt. Brian Smith

Big Bend Charters

Capt Brian Smith has fished rivers, lakes, ponds, creeks, Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico since he was old enough to hold a rod.
From the mountain streams of West Virginia, east to the Atlantic. From Va. Beach and the Outer Banks, eventually south to Florida and then landing on the west coast in the Gulf of Mexico. If Capt B put a foot down in a state, city or country, he put a rod down to see what was biting. Capt B has fished the Gulf from Cedar Key to
Steinhatchee for 35 years, 23 of those years, exclusively out of Steinhatchee.
The pristine estuaries, scallops, stone crabs, and green-blue, clear offshore waters captured his heart to make the permanent move to this quaint little
village. The tug of Big Fish lured Capt B offshore, exploring for grouper, kingfish and cobia from 20′ to 180′. Fishing is like a box of chocolates, you never
know what you will get! He targets grouper, snappers, kingfish, cobia, spanish, various other reef fish, even the thrill of shark fishing! Some of the bonus fish
found offshore, small mahi, blackfin tuna and even sailfish! Capt B loves to take everyone from the expert to the novice fishing. He is especially gifted
with families and the patience to share his vast knowledge with children, teaching them the ins-and-outs of fishing. The large, spacious TwinVee 32′
boat is a smooth ride and safe for children of all ages. Ask Capt B his favorite part about fishing? He will tell you ‘the People’. He loves to share his passion
of fishing and knowledge with others. It is all about making a memory and now we are seeing
the second and third generation of families return to share in that love of the sea!
Author of 2 books, “Reeling In Time with Fish Tales” and “Backlash of Monofulfilment”.
Writer for Woods N Water Mag, Coastal Angler Magazine and local newspapers. Featured in: several Nuts And Bolts Series – Video and TV; Florida Sportsman TV and magazine; Saltwater Sportsman magazine and guest speaker at fishing clubs.
Graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Agronomy and University of Florida with a MS in Aquatic Weeds. Served two years in the Peach Corps in Honduras.

Capt. Buddy Moorman

(352) 812-3318

Ask anyone who has ever fished with Buddy and they will tell you that for Buddy fishing has never been a hobby – it’s a PASSION!

From his early days as a youngster fishing local rivers, to dragging an old Jon boat behind a 3 wheeler to get to a pond—Buddy loved to catch fish.

When he got old enough to drive (legally) – the Gulf became his pond, the 3 wheeler was replaced by a truck and the Jon Boat has been retired and replaced by bigger, better and certainly safer boats.

He has fished the west coast from Crystal River to Big Bend for 30+ years. Today the passion remains, and he loves to share the knowledge and techniques developed over a lifetime on the water. If there is a fish to be caught, Buddy will find it and catch it.

Buddy has made the choice to settle in Steinhatchee for his personal part-time residence and his future full time retirement due to not only the water and the fishing but also due to the people that have become lifelong friends. The fishing is great and so are the natives!

Capt. Steve Washington

Silver Fish Inshore Charters and Lodge

239 565-8988

Captain Stephen grew up fishing for panfish, Carp, and Northern Pike in Michigan and fell in love with fishing. After high school, he served 23 years in the Navy which took him around the world. He has spent years fishing for Salmon and Steelhead in the rivers of Alaska and Washington State and Rainbow Trout in the lakes. After retiring from the military, the captain moved to Florida to be near his parents and discovered inshore fishing for Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Snook – the best fishing he has ever experienced. He loves fishing for Speckled Trout, as the action is usually good and the fish are beautiful. Its distinctive head shake and aggressive bite make it fun to catch on light tackle. After years of fishing and working in Florida, Captain Stephen realized the only days he looked forward to were those he spent on the water. He made it his goal to someday find a way to make a living doing what he loves and he has finally succeeded. He is looking forward to sharing it with you.

Capt. Chris Davy

Southern Fried Charters

(386) 986-7914

I grew up in Nashville TN before it was cool. As a kid we fished every pond and creek within 20 miles of my house, often by horseback . Certainly different times but the passion for finding fish never changes. Then it was smallmouth and largemouth bass, rainbow and brown trout along with crappie and catfish.

As I got older I fished on a boat called the Honey Chile in Sarasota /Longboat Key, Florida and that was all it took . It was there I learned the pursuit of “big fish”. I knew then, when I was old enough, I was heading to Florida to live and fish. I always wanted to be a Professional fisherman and in the mid 90’s began tournament fishing for kingfish. The adventure took on a life of its own and by 2012 I started hosting the Southern Sportsman Radio Show in Flagler County and did so for 8 years. As fishing and being a Guide/Captain became my life the real reason I do it, and love it, is to be a special part of other people’s lives. I can give people memories they will talk about forever. It’s about living free and sharing my passion and love for fishing with others. A priceless occupation.

Capt. Staten Levings

I grew up hunting and fishing in the Okeefenokee Swamp, I’ve fished both the Suwanee River and the Gulf.

I knew at the young age of 12 that I wanted to be a Charter Captain. At 17 I decided Steinhatchee is where I wanted to start my Captain career.

Sharing my love and knowledge of the sport is what drives me, it is truly my life’s passion. I have extensive knowledge and fishing experience in the water from Spring Warrior to Shell Mound and everywhere in between.

There is no hiding place for the fish, if they are there, I will put you on them!
