Bobbi joined Mark in the company and in life. Together they have grown and expanded to what it is today. Never having fished much before meeting Mark, the times have changed. Now running the company as well as winning tournaments and teaching their daughter to fish, it has become a passion and a lifestyle. After growing up running shrimp boats with her dad and brother there’s definitely salt in the veins.  Years in the customer service industry makes it easy to be in this field.  Great demeanor as well as a love for fishing makes for an awesome day on the water.

Deciding to become a guide here in Steinhatchee and making a business dream turn into a successful career. I am Captain Max Leatherwood of “Maxxx’d Out Charters”. I’m from Newman Georgia but have made Steinhatchee my home for the last 5 years.

I’m like most fisherman in that my dad taught me to fish at a very young age and ever since I’ve been hooked!

I have always had a passion for fishing whether it was fishing competitively on bass tournament trails or fishing for fun on the flats of Steinhatchee which I have been fishing for the past 50 years.

I believe in making my charters fun and memorable trip for my clients and will work as hard as I can to assure they do – like my name implies Maxxx’d Out!

Capt. Brian Smith

Big Bend Charters

Capt Brian Smith has fished rivers, lakes, ponds, creeks, Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico since he was old enough to hold a rod.
From the mountain streams of West Virginia, east to the Atlantic. From Va. Beach and the Outer Banks, eventually south to Florida and then landing on the west coast in the Gulf of Mexico. If Capt B put a foot down in a state, city or country, he put a rod down to see what was biting. Capt B has fished the Gulf from Cedar Key to
Steinhatchee for 35 years, 23 of those years, exclusively out of Steinhatchee.
The pristine estuaries, scallops, stone crabs, and green-blue, clear offshore waters captured his heart to make the permanent move to this quaint little
village. The tug of Big Fish lured Capt B offshore, exploring for grouper, kingfish and cobia from 20′ to 180′. Fishing is like a box of chocolates, you never
know what you will get! He targets grouper, snappers, kingfish, cobia, spanish, various other reef fish, even the thrill of shark fishing! Some of the bonus fish
found offshore, small mahi, blackfin tuna and even sailfish! Capt B loves to take everyone from the expert to the novice fishing. He is especially gifted
with families and the patience to share his vast knowledge with children, teaching them the ins-and-outs of fishing. The large, spacious TwinVee 32′
boat is a smooth ride and safe for children of all ages. Ask Capt B his favorite part about fishing? He will tell you ‘the People’. He loves to share his passion
of fishing and knowledge with others. It is all about making a memory and now we are seeing
the second and third generation of families return to share in that love of the sea!
Author of 2 books, “Reeling In Time with Fish Tales” and “Backlash of Monofulfilment”.
Writer for Woods N Water Mag, Coastal Angler Magazine and local newspapers. Featured in: several Nuts And Bolts Series – Video and TV; Florida Sportsman TV and magazine; Saltwater Sportsman magazine and guest speaker at fishing clubs.

Captain Stephen grew up fishing for panfish, Carp, and Northern Pike in Michigan and fell in love with fishing. After high school, he served 23 years in the Navy which took him around the world. He has spent years fishing for Salmon and Steelhead in the rivers of Alaska and Washington State and Rainbow Trout in the lakes. After retiring from the military, the captain moved to Florida to be near his parents and discovered inshore fishing for Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Snook – the best fishing he has ever experienced. He loves fishing for Speckled Trout, as the action is usually good and the fish are beautiful. Its distinctive head shake and aggressive bite make it fun to catch on light tackle. After years of fishing and working in Florida, Captain Stephen realized the only days he looked forward to were those he spent on the water. He made it his goal to someday find a way to make a living doing what he loves and he has finally succeeded. He is looking forward to sharing it with you.
